The Palintest range of portable instruments includes pocket sensors and meters for pH, conductivity, total dissolved solids, turbidity and dissolved oxygen.
1.Macro 900 WQS
The Macro 900 Water Quality System is designed for the professional water scientist and provides monitoring for a wide range of key parameters in a comprehensive field kit.
The Macro 900 meter is waterproof, simple to use and includes barometric pressure monitoring and GPS location detection. The data storage holds 1000 full sets of results and is downloaded via USB into the provided MacroLink software.
Two Macro Accessory Probes (MAPs) are available to provide the monitoring; the MAP 2000 includes sensors/probes for pH, Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP), Dissolved Oxygen (optical method), Conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Resistivity, Salinity and Seawater Specific Gravity (SSG). The MAP 2100 adds depth measurement to the range of parameters on offer, either standard or differential.
Both robust probes can be further enhanced using the range of optional ion selective electrodes (ISE) and optical probes:
ISE – ammonia/ammonium (NH3/NH4), nitrate (NO3), calcium (Ca), chloride (Cl), fluoride (F)
Optical probes – turbidity (ISO 7027 method), Chlorophyll, Blue Green Algae (Phycocyanin, fresh water), Blue Green Algae (Phycoerythrin, marine water), Rhodamine WT dye, Fluorescein dye, Refined Oils (Hydrocarbons)
2.Waterproof Dissolved Oxygen Meter
The Palintest Waterproof Dissolved Oxygen Meter is a state-of-the-art instrument for dissolved oxygen measurement. It is completely waterproof - it even floats!
The determination of dissolved oxygen is an important test for water. Typical applications include environmental monitoring of natural waters, fish farming, the control of sewage and effluent treatment plants and the laboratory measurement of BOD.
The large LCD screen on the meter displays the dissolved oxygen result in either mg/l or percent air saturation, and the temperature.
This microprocessor-controlled meter features the latest in dissolved oxygen probe design and technology. Oxygen in the test solution passes through a thin permeable membrane to the sensor elements which comprise a glass-encapsulated platinum cathode and a silver wire anode. The probe also features a built-in thermistor sensor for temperature measurement and linear temperature compensation.
Calibration of the meter takes only a couple of minutes. It has been simplified to a push button operation with the probe held in saturated air.
The meter is supplied complete with spare probe membranes and probe electrolyte solution. The instrument comes with a soft carry case and a 3m cable length probe.
3. Waterproof pH/Conductivity/TDS Meter
This all-purpose meter is suitable for use in the field under all weather conditions. It is equally suitable for laboratory use. The meter can be used to measure pH, conductivity, TDS and temperature in all aqueous samples. It is possible to adjust the normalisation temperature, temperature coefficient and TDS factor which means that this instrument is equally suited for research use and specialist applications.
The Palintest Waterproof 800 meter (rated IP67) is supplied in a soft carrying pouch complete with a doublejunction pH electrode and a combined conductivity/TDS probe with temperature sensor. A combined pH/temperature electrode is available as an optional extra. All probes and electrodes are plug-in for easy replacement.
This combined meter offers users a high specification waterproof instrument at a very economical price in comparison to purchasing separate splash-proof instruments.
4. Conductivity Meter
The Palintest Micro 500 Conductivity Meter is a multi-range instrument which will cover applications from deionised water through to brine. The instrument provides automatic temperature compensation and also features a temperature coefficient control. The latter enables the instrument to be set for solutions where the temperature coefficient differs from that of water.
This sturdy meter measures up to three different ranges with auto-ranging capability that switches to appropriate measuring range automatically.
Included with the meter are a two-pin stainless steel conductivity electrodes with built-in temperature sensor (for ATC), a rubber boot, 4 x alkaline 'AAA' batteries, instruction manual and soft carrying pouch.
5. Micro 500 TDS Meter
The Palintest Micro 500 TDS meter measures Total Dissolved Solids and temperature (°C). This sturdy meter measures up to 3 different ranges with auto-ranging capability that switches to appropriate measuring range automatically.
The measurement of total dissolved solids (TDS) is important in a number of applications – in particular industrial waters and swimming pools. The total dissolved solids concentration bears a close relationship to the conductivity of the water. TDS measurement is therefore most commonly carried out using instruments which determine the conductivity and then display the result in terms of total dissolved solids concentration.
The meter is supplied with a TDS probe, is suitable for laboratory or field use and comes in a soft carrying pouch.
The meter is capable of being calibrated independently on each measurement range. If a range is not calibrated, the meter automatically detects the closest calibration range and uses this calibration information. Palintest TDS solutions are available for checking the instrument
6. Pocket Sensors
The Palintest range includes a handy selection of pocket sensors for measuring pH, conductivity and TDS. Compact, lightweight and affordable they are ideal for your water testing needs.
The Palintest Pocket pH Sensor is a simple to use microprocessor-based pocket sized instrument for checking the pH value of water and aqueous solutions.
Palintest Pocket TDS and Conductivity Sensors are simple to use pocket sized instruments for checking the total dissolved solids content or conductivity of water and aqueous solutions. The TDS sensor calibration is based on the established factor that TDS equals conductivity x0.67 at 25°C (except TDS Salt Pool Sensor which uses a factor of 0.55).
Recalibration
For optimum performance, recalibrate the sensor regularly. Weekly recalibration is recommended if the sensor is in constant use. For calibration use Palintest Standard TDS/Conductivity Solution.
7. Temperature Sensor
Palintest's Temperature Sensor is simple to use pocket sized instrument for measuring temperature. The safest and best temperature measuring results guaranteed every time!
How to Operate
1 Press the ON/OFF button to activate the thermometer.
2 Within one second the thermometer is ready to work.
3 Simply insert the stainless steel probe into the measuring object. The measuring temperature will be shown on the LCD display.
4 Press the MIN-MAX MEMORY button to read the last maximum temperature measured. Press again for the minimum temperature measured.
